Will of Isaac Naff, Sr.1

Son of Jacob Naff, Sr. and Eva Katherine Flora

(Franklin County, VA, Will Book 6, pg 93)

In the name of God Amen. I Isaac Nafe Sr. of the County of Franklin being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all (?) worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say to my son Isaac Nafe two little tracts of land called Mishlers and Teats land containing two hundred and sixty acres it being more or less, for six hundred and fifty dollars and one hundred dollars I give Isaac as an heir right, which I gave to all my children eccept my daughter Mary to her! gave two hundred dollars one hundred dollars which she shall have more than one of the rest, and then Isaac shall pay five hundred and fifty dollars to his father and mother or either of them and Isaac shall pay thirty five dollars for his first payment on or before the 25th day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty six and he shall pay thirty five dollars every year ti! he pays five hundred dollars and then the last year he shall pay fifty dollars which will make the number full, and it Is my desire that the little part of land which I own in the mountain to be sold, and all what is coming from all my lands to be collected as it comes due and to be gab together for the support of my wife as long as she lives, and after our decease it is my desire If there be any unpaid to be equally divided amongst all my children and their heirs forever, unto John i one share, unto Henry one share, unto Isaac one share, unto Mary one share, unto Elizabeth one share and share alike unto all my children, accept one hundred dollars to my daughter Mary and some house furniture which will be named hereafter which she shall have more than one of the rest, and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend John Nafe and Joseph Flora and Isaac Nafe Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby making all other or former Wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of March in the year of our Lord Christ 1834.

At a Court held for Franklin County the 6th day of February 1846 This last Will and Testament of Isaac NaefDecd was produced in Court and proved by the oath of Abraham Barnhart and George Nafe two of the subscribing witnesses herein and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of John Nafe, Joseph Flora and Isaac Nafe the executors herein named who made oath and gave bond and security according to law certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form
