This Indenture made this 29th day of Jany 1834 one thousand eight hundred and thirty four between Isaac Nafe and Barbara his wife of the County of Franklin one part and John Nafe of the other part Witnesseth that the Isaac Nafe (Barbara) his wife for and in consideration of the just and full sum of Twelve Hundred and Fifty Dollars current money of Virginia to them in hand paid the rct. whereof doth acknowledge hath given, granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto him the said John Nafe his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land in Franklin County on both sides of Little Creek containing three hundred and twenty-two (be the same more or less) and bounded as followeth, to wit: Beginning at a small Hickory on the North side of the said Creek thence of North 12 East 16 poles to a Red Oak N 29 W 18 poles to a white oak N 63 East 34 poles to a white oak North 56 East 16 poles to a double white oak South 55 East 26 poles to a Spanish Oak South 68 East 12 poles to a white oak N 37 East 22 poles to a Chestnut N 22 E 30 poles to a red oak on the Wagon Road N 53 East 26 poles to a small white oak. N 32 W 170 poles to the old line N 70 West 4 poles to a Box Oak N 14 West 100 poles to a W. oak South 66 West 42 poles to a red oak N 75 West 110 poles to a red oak on the Wagon Road thence with the same South 54 East 26 poles to a white oak South 59 East 56 poles to a white oak South 32 East 38 poles to pointers South 69 East 30 poles to pointers South 79 East 34 poles to a red oak South 121 East (96?) poles to pointers N 72 West 22 poles to a Small white oak. To have and to hold the above mentioned Tract or Parcel of land and promised in fee simple and they the said Isaac Nafe and his wife doth warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of Land and premises from the just or lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever to the only use and behoof of him the said Isaac Nafe and his heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof the said Isaac Nafe and his wife hath hereunto set their hands and fixed their seals the day and year above mentioned. Franklin County We, Henry Carper and Moses Greer, Jr, Justices of the Peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Isaac Nafe a party to a certain Deed bearing date on the 29th day day of January 1834 and hereto answered personally appeared before us in the County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired of us to certify the said acknowledgment to the clerk of the County Court of Franklin in order that the same may be recorded. Given under our hands and seals this 13th day of February, 1834.

We, Henry Carper and Moses Greer Jr., Justices of the Peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Barbara Nafe the wife of Isaac Nafe his wife parties to a certain deed bearing date on the 29th day of 1834 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and being examined by us briefly and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she, the said Barbara Nafe, acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she hath willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it.
