THIS INDENTURE made this 16th day of August 1804 between Henry Kinsey & Eve his wife of Franklin County of the one part, and Joseph Nafe of the same county of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Henry Kinsey and Eve his wife for and in consideration of the just and full Sum of three hundred pound current money of Virginia to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof doth acknowledge, hath given, granted bargained and sold, and by these Presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell unto him the said Joseph Nafe, one certain Tract or parcel of land in Franklin County on a Branch of Little Creek, containing Two hundred and ninety-eight acres ( be the same more or less) and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a R. O. N9. W82 poles crossing a creek to a W. O. N53 W46 po to W.O. N9?? Poles to a Sp.O N53 W93 poles to a Chestnut O. S43 W50 po to a W.O. S60 W30 po to Pointer, N35 W50 po to a w.o. N10 W76 poles to a Sowerwood, N22 E36 po to a W.O. N53 West 10 po to Pointers, S27, W162 po crossing a Branch and Creek to a Maple, S35 E166 po to pointers S85 E76 po to a Dogwood, S64 E104 po to w.o. N51 E52 poles to the Beginning: together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining thereto. To Have and To hold the said bargained Land & Premises unto him the said Joseph Nafe, his heirs and assigns forever, and against them the said Henry Kinsey and Eve his wife or any other person or persons having any just claim or Title to the said bargained Land; and they the said Henry Kinsey and Eve his wife their heirs and assigns doth warrant and forever defend a good and lawful rite & title in fee simple to the said Joseph Nafe, his heirs and assigns. In Witness whereof they the said Henry Kinsey and Eve his wife, hath hereunto set their hand and seals, the day and year first above written.

In a Court held for Franklin County at the Courthouse the third day of September, 1804:
This Indenture of bargain and Sale between Henry Kinsey Eve his wife Eve of the one part and Joseph Nafe of the other part, was acknowledged by the said Henry Kinsey and his wife the said Eve being first privily examined according to Law, voluntarily relinquished her right of dower in and to the Land& Premises conveyed by this Indenture which is ordered to be recorded.
